Stick the plate to the wall
Press the 140mm back plate onto a clean, flat patch of wall near the blind. No drilling, screws or tools.
Loop the chain on
Take the loose blind chain and loop it around the winder's wheel.
Turn the crank
A few turns winds the chain up onto the wheel, off the floor and out of reach.

Child safety FAQ
Are blind cords actually dangerous?
Yes — a dangling loop of blind cord or chain is a recognised strangulation hazard for young children and pets, which is why UK and EU regulations require new blinds to be sold with a safety device. The risk comes from a loop hanging within reach, not from the cord itself, so taking the loop out of reach removes the hazard.
How is a winder safer than a cord clip or cleat?
A cleat only helps if someone remembers to wind the cord and hook it on every single time — miss it once and the loop is hanging free again. The winder takes the chain up onto the wheel as you crank it, so there's no loop left to forget about.
Is this a substitute for cordless blinds?
Cordless blinds remove the cord entirely and are the safest option if you're replacing blinds anyway. The winder is for the far more common case: you already have a corded blind and don't want to replace it, but want the loose chain out of reach in seconds.
Does it work with any blind?
It's made to fit standard bead chains, which cover the large majority of roller and vertical blinds. If you're not sure your chain will fit, email us a photo before ordering.
Is it safe to mount without drilling?
Yes — the back plate sticks with strong mounting tape (3M VHB or similar), which holds well for everyday cranking. If you'd rather have a permanent fit, the same plate has 12 screw holes.
Is it 3D printed?
Yes — 3D printed to order in the UK, in durable PETG or PLA. The wheel and hand-crank knob are a single moving part with no springs or clips to wear out.
